This item is made by women in New Delhi that are infected or have been impacted by HIV/AIDS. Women like Kamlesh, who is 28 with two children, and along with her husband is HIV positive. Finding work has been difficult because they fall sick often.
Kamlesh is a hardworking woman with a contagious smile. She was thrilled to use her crocheting skills in the macrame designs. She is constantly laughing while her fingers work their magic.
Her dream is '...to make a small house for my children. I want my children to get a good education and become good people. I want to earn more and more through this project in order to manage the needs of my family'.
